The dog is a Yorkshire Terrier named Cooper. The doggo was just outside the yard when the driver allegedly threw the package, which landed on Cooper. The dog owners immediately picked up the package and saw a puddle of blood. The dog was rushed to the veterinarian but nothing else could be done because the dog already suffered from serious injuries to her liver and lungs. The dog had to be euthanized the next day.
In a statement by FedEx, they said that they extend their deepest sympathies to the family of the dog. They are now investigating the matter to determine the circumstances that led to the death of the dog. The family is not satisfied with the statement of FedEx and they noted that after their internal investigation, the family “will take appropriate action.”
