– A family knows that they will lose their dog soon, which has Cushing’s disease and liver cancer.
– The dog is now being given the happiest days of its life.
– The dog recently went swimming and boating.
The dog and his family are from Millbury, Massachusetts and his owner, Steph Kozlowski, said that they have already accepted that the dog’s days are numbered so they are doing everything they can to make the dog’s last days happy and memorable. Kozlowski added, “We’ve always spoiled him rotten. But, we will just continue to give him the best, happiest days for however many there are.”
More on the dog named Mitch, he was rescued in March 2018 when Kozlowski lost another dog. The dog was taken to Massachusetts from Georgia as it was actually a hurricane Irma evacuee. Mitch was given to many foster families until Kozlowski learned about his story. She noted, “He just healed our entire family’s broken heart. He was the missing piece of the puzzle.” Although Mitch was already old when Kozlowski and her family adopted him, they did not have second thoughts of taking him home.
Kozlowski also shared that they are talking about Mitch’s story to encourage the adoption of older dogs.
