Now that coronavirus is difficult to detect since the results usually takes hours or even days or due to the lack of testing kits, doggos are being trained to detect it faster. This is an addition to the list of the many jobs that doggos can do using their noses.

Medical Detection Dogs have decided to work with Durham University and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in order to see whether or not doggos can sniff out COVID-19. In the past, Medical Detection Dogs was successful in training doggos to detect cancer, malaria, and Parkinson’s. The scent of these diseases made the dogs detect them if they were present in a person.
If the trial for these doggos being trained to sniff out COVID-19 would be successful, they could be ready in six weeks. However, not everyone can use the doggos to detect the disease but they can be used to prevent the reemergence of COVID-19 in the future so as to avert any outbreak just like what we have now.
