Many doggos used to join the Helen Woodward Animal Center’s annual doggo surfing contest at Del Mar’s Dog Beach. Due to the pandemic, however, people cannot gather at the beach so they are asked to submit a video of surfing doggos and they will be judged via the virtual medium.
– Helen Woodward Animal Center’s annual dog surfing contest cannot be held physically this year.
– However, it will push through virtually.
– Dog owners from around the world can submit…
The good thing about the contest now is that doggos from all over the world are expected to enter the contest. A spokesperson from the Helen Woodward Animal Center shared, “This year, the fact that we can bond over our love for our dogs with people from all over the world just makes it that much sweeter.” The theme for this year’s virtual contest is “Fetch A Wave to Save a Life” because the money that will be raised will be given to the Rancho Santa Fe-based animal center’s programs.
The doggos will be judged on the size of the wave, the wave technique, the length of the ride, and many more. The submitted videos will be up for viewing by September 13. The deadline to submit the videos will be on September 6. There is a registration fee for different categories.
