Dogs should not be left inside cars especially during these summer months. It seems that another dog owner did not care about the dogs’ welfare and it’s great that the York Police officers came just in time to rescue the dogs.
– Two dogs were left inside a car for more than 30 minutes.
– The dogs were removed by police.
– Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals already launched an investigation.
Two dogs were left inside the hot car for more than 30 minutes when officers smashed the car window to get to the dogs. The dogs, which were Labradors, were already struggling to breathe. The case was already referred to Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals but the police officers already got to the scene earlier and took the dogs out.
The dogs were later taken to the veterinary clinic for heat exhaustion. The car owners will be prosecuted after the investigation is concluded. It is unclear if they are also the dog owners.
