Do not ignore your dog instead, pet it. Dogs feel very stressed when they hear fireworks and the best way to calm them down is to assure them that everything will be okay minutes later.
Dr. Rachel Casey, the director of behavior research at the charity Dogs Trust, said that the new advice was from the latest study about how a dog’s brain works.
Petting your dog when it feels stressed does not mean they always need your attention, it just means that they need to feel safe during the time they are panicking.
