The top 16 dog food brands are Acana, Blue Buffalo, California Natural, Earthborn Holistic, Fromm, Merrick, Natural Balance, Nature’s Domain, Nature’s Variety, NutriSource, Nutro, Orijen, Rachael Ray Nutrish, Taste of the Wild, Zignature, and 4Health. The canine heart disease linked to these dog food brands is the canine dilated cardiomyopathy. It usually results in heart failure and larger dog breeds are known to be the frequent targets.
The most affected dog breed is the golden retriever but the FDA released the list so that all dog owners will be aware.
Some of the companies on the list released a statement saying that FDA has no scientific proof yet as to their claims.
