Accordingly, Viagen Pets, a Texas-based company, cloned pets, specifically cats and dogs, since 2016.
Dog owners are required to pay a fee so that the small skin sample from the living dog or cat could be preserved in liquid nitrogen.
Dog and cat owners do not have to immediately ask for the clone proceedings to take place because the storing of the tissue sample is indefinite.
In line with this, the first ever cloned dog was recorded in Ohio last year. The original dog suffered from medical issues and the cloned dog is a carbon copy of the dog physically and personality-wise.
