A couple of doggos were displaced because of Hurricane Laura. They were then taken to the D.C. region. All of them were from Louisiana.

There are a total of 37 doggos transported to the D.C. region. Sixteen doggos were taken to a pet shelter in Derwood, Maryland while 21 were taken to Lucky Dog Animal Rescue in Arlington, Virginia. The doggos arrived at the shelters on Thursday and are currently being evaluated as to their health and their behavior. After that, they will be put up for adoption. They will all be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and be given updated vaccines.
The doggos were actually from the Morehouse Humane Society. However, because of the damage brought about by the hurricane to the state, it was best to transfer the animals to other shelters.
