The doggo, together with her handler, Capt. Michael Cornwell, traveled to Boston this May to be recertified by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The dog was tested by many scenarios like being placed in a recently burned structure or taken to an open field. Doggos must pass the tests in order to be recertified.
The certification this year was different because a competition was involved. A total of 50 canine teams all over the country were part of it. Millie proved to be a hundred percent accurate in detecting the accelerants and was named as the top dog.
