– A dog was abandoned in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
– Many are asking about its welfare as it was severely emaciated.
– The dog is recovering day by day and…
According to an update by the Animal Care & Control in the area, the dog, which remains unnamed, is still in critical condition and has a long road as to its recovery but it is making progress day by day. The organization likewise thanked the public for their overwhelming concern over the welfare of the doggo. They are also investigating the matter regarding this recent abandonment.
The Animal Care & Control in Fort Wayne, however, told news reporters that an abandoned and an abused doggo is not uncommon in the area. Just last week, there were 15 cases of such. The cases, however, are not publicized as the doggos are considered as evidence in possible criminal investigations.
The Animal Care & Control in Fort Wayne added that they have a program that helps animals that were mistreated or abused by their owners. It is called Angel Fund. A staff at the center shared, “Our angel fund is donation dollars, and it provides for that extra medical care that animals need. (The dog’s) care is going to be completely funded by donor dollars, so if you are wanting to help out with his case, we have, like we said, other cruelty cases that are here right now that need extensive medical care.”
