It was a sad ending for a doggo in Wausau, Wisconsin. The Wausau Fire Department was not able to recover the doggo that fell through the ice with its owner.
– A woman was out walking her dog.
– Her dog went to a frozen river.
– The dog fell through the ice as well as the dog owner but the dog was never…
Accordingly, the dog owner, a female, was walking her doggo. They were near Picnic Island on Friday afternoon. The dog then went out onto the ice and fell through immediately. The dog owner then followed suit to try and rescue her pet but she also fell through. Respondents went to the scene and was able to rescue the woman but was no longer able to rescue the dog.
During the time that the dog and the woman fell through the ice, the ice was said to be too thin. Battalion Chief Kraig Kurzan reminded the citizens saying, “Keep all pets away from the ice at this time. They think it’s safe and by no means is the ice on Lake Wausau safe. Just remember it is a river system, so there’s constantly moving water and the moving water will take you underneath very fast.”
