A dachshund named Andy suddenly could not get out of bed one day last July. The dog owner quickly realized that the dog’s hind legs were no longer functioning as they were paralyzed. Thanks to 3-D printing, the dog is now able to walk properly again.

The dog owner took the dog to Saint Francis Veterinary Care and they were told that the dog needed an emergency spine surgery. The procedure was risky but thanks to technology, the veterinarians who worked on the doggo were able to print a 3D of the dog’s spine so that they know exactly what to do. After the surgery, the dog was able to walk again but in order to walk much better and for the dog to regain strength in his legs, the doggo had to undergo therapy twice a week.
The dog is very important to the dog owner because the dog became the source of comfort of her sick husband when he was still alive. The husband died just recently.
