The Mercury News has a pet section called PetPal connection and writer Joan Morris got a letter about a doggo that loves vegetables. The dog owner was worried because dogs are naturally carnivores.
– Dogs are not carnivores.
– Dogs are omnivores.
– The best fruits that dogs must could eat are…
The dog owner said that she caught the doggo pulling the bags of carrots off the counter and started eating away. The dog owner said she also caught the dog eating green beans and fruits in the past and whenever they were having roast beef and carrots, the roast beef was left behind.
Joan Morris said that it’s a common misunderstanding that dog owners believe their dogs are carnivores. In reality, dogs are omnivores, meaning they could eat both meat and veggies. Morris added that fruits and vegetables are lower in calories in fats so it’s really good for the doggo. However, a balanced diet is still necessary.
The best vegetables that dogs could eat are broccoli, peas, cucumbers, spinach, celery, Brussel sprouts, and more.
