Per the publication, these dog treats pose “risk factor for the development of excess body fat” in your dog. Due to these dog treats, 54 percent of dogs in the United States are overweight.
Dog treats also account for only 10 percent of the energy that dogs get from their diet. The most number of calories belong to biscuits.
Second in rank are the tenders or the moist biscuits. It is followed by meat strips, then rawhides, then chewable sticks, and lastly, dental sticks.
The article advised dog owners to reduce the serving size and hopes that proper labeling of the ingredients of these treats be provided in the packaging.
