Dogs are meant to stay both indoors and outdoors but it doesn’t mean they have to stay tied to their dog houses out in the yard. Doing such might just be illegal in one U.S. state.

Mayor Teresa Tomlinson of Columbus, Georgia said that city officials might change the laws on animals being left outside in the yard and are not able to roam freely.
This is due to the fact that there have been more reports regarding animal abuse. This change also comes after a dog was rescued in the area last February 19. The dog was tied to a short chain and its ribs were showing.
The current ordinance in the area prohibits dog owners to leave their dogs unattended for more than 12 hours in a day.
