The dog, identified as nine-year-old Maya, was playing in the water when she got swept over the waterfalls by the current. For days, volunteers tried searching for Maya but they never saw her. This weekend, search and rescue crews delivered the sad news that the dog’s body was found near Twin Falls.
The dog owner shared, “She was a really sweet dog, friendly. She was so active, so healthy. She was the queen of our house.” The dog owner is now planning to put up a plaque in the canyon in memory of the doggo.
