A doggo is a full-time staff member at a school and lives with the school’s principal. The presence of the doggo at school actually improved the emotional well-being and school attendance of the children.
– A dog has been with a school for a term now.
– The dog has affected a lot of the students’ and staff’s life positively.
– The dog taught children how to be…
The six-month-old doggo has been with the school for one term and came from Dogs Connect. The dog is perfect for school because she does not shed hair and is hypoallergenic. With the dog, named Daisy, being around and affecting the lives of the children and the staff members, the school hopes to get a permanent school dog soon. Children also learn a lot from Daisy because they have become emphatic, self-regulated, and more.
The principal of the school said that there is not any one of the students who does not have a connection with the dog. He noted, “When we have kids who want to come to school and feel like they belong to the community, that’s the most important thing.”
