Christine Wirth Kimmet revealed that her German shepherd and Husky mix saved her during the worst times of her life.
– A woman had heart problems and her dog had stomach problems
– Both helped each other emotionally after undergoing several surgeries in a span of two years
– The two remain best friends eight years after their trying times
This happened back in 2009 when she was still a student at Montana State University. Kimmet was very homesick so her parents advised her that she get herself a dog.

She and her father then went to the Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter and decided to adopt one. However, there were four others who wanted to get the same dog that Kimmet wanted.
That was not the worst part of Kimmet’s life. A day after she applied to adopt the dog, she found out that she had a heart condition and she had to undergo surgeries.
Otherwise, she would die. She was depressed after hearing about her condition but when she was phoned that she could already pick up the dog from the shelter, she was happier than ever.
Months later, a veterinarian advised Kimmet that she should euthanize her dog because it had serious stomach problems. Kimmet did not give up on her dog so they both underwent many surgeries for two years. Eight years later, the two are healthy and are living happily.
