A dog owner was sentenced to a short time behind bars after he used a stapler to close of the wounds of his dog. The dog was injured while they were out hunting for pig.
– A dog owner has to spend a month in jail.
– The man did not give one of his dogs the needed medical attention because it was too expensive for him.
– Another incident involved another doggo of the man being stapled.
The incident took place in 2017 but the proceedings were only finalized recently after the dog owner pleaded guilty to two charges relating to the doggo. He was then asked to serve one month in jail and pay $2,000. The dog owner also cannot own a doggo or other animals for two years. The stapling incident was made public after the dog owner posted about it on Facebook. The stapled up doggo remains under the care of the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
An earlier incident involved a doggo that suffered from wounds because of fighting with another dog. The doggo was taken to the vet but the dog owner said the procedure that the doggo has to undergo was too expensive. An animal welfare check was done and that doggo was taken by the SPCA. This doggo has later been adopted out.
