A husky named Aspen is being recommended to be put down. This comes after the dog chased a guinea pig and the cavy “died of fright.” The dog owner is now asking for the doggos’ life to be spared.
– A husky allegedly killed a guinea pig.
– The dog owners claim the guinea pig died of fright.
– The dog was then labeled as menacing and was recommended to be put down.
The dog was labeled as a menacing dog by the Auckland Council and the guinea pig owner claims the dog owner failed to take responsibility over the actions of the doggo. The dog owner took to social media to say her doggo has a gorgeous heart and that she cannot believe her dog is being given such harsh decision over a guinea pig. The dog owner continued to say that the society accepts cats killing smaller animals but they do not accept that doggos still “have an instinct to chase things.”
The dog owner said that the guinea pig was not killed by Aspen. It was actually even held by the guinea pig owner and was alive when the dog owners arrived to check on Aspen. The guinea pig owner, however, said that they found the guinea pig in the mouth of the dog and that it was already limping and cold when taken from the dog’s mouth.
There has been no resolution about this yet.
