A dog went missing for three years. Later, the dog ended up at a New Mexico shelter and was reunited with its human.
– A woman lost her dog three years ago.
– The dog ended up at the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter in New Mexico.
– The dog owner could not believe it because…
The dog was taken to the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter. It is unclear what happened to the dog for the first months and years it went missing but accordingly, a woman started taking care of the animal in March this year. However, the dog had to be surrendered because the woman could no longer take care of it.
The dog was from Colorado and the dog reportedly did not come back one night after being allowed to play out all day. The dog owner tried everything to search for the animal until they gave up thinking that the dog might have already died. The dog’s family later moved to Houston making it all the more difficult to continue looking for the animal.
The owner said that when she received the call she was very shocked because she did not know anyone from New Mexico. When told that the shelter had a black Australian Shepherd with them, she could not contain herself. Thanks to the microchip of the dog, it was able to go back home.
The animal is in great shape and the family said they are happy they can spend more time with the dog.
