– The dog later became part of Homeland Security’s…
The dog, named Murray, is a beagle and his main job is at an Atlanta airport. He helps keep diseases out of the United States by sniffing out any smuggled items like meat and produce. The dog was rescued from a kill shelter by a volunteer group called Alcovy Pet Rescue. The dog was in a miserable state because a part of his right ear was cut off as well as a part of his tail. The group nursed the doggo back to health and later noticed he had the drive to hunt. Because of this, he joined the Beagle Brigade, which was a team of 115 beagles working with Homeland Security.
After the training and passing all the tests, the dog is now with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. They work daily at the baggage claim area. The dog enjoys his job because to him, it is just a big hide and seek game.
