The former New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo and his family are still puzzled over the mysterious disappearance and death of their dog. The trainer, who was with the dog when the dog allegedly disappeared, has been charged.

The dog is a five-year-old English bulldog and went missing last June. The dog was being walked by the trainer named Amelia Ferreira. The dog was later found dead inside the home of the trainer in Rhode Island. According to the Instagram post of Mayo, Ferreira hid the dog in a trash bag. They said that they were really hurt because they treated their dog like their own child and raised him like one.
Two states were searched in hopes of finding the dog. Teams were given false leads both in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It is possible that the dog trainer will also be charged in Massachusetts. For now, the trainer has been charged with one count of obstruction in Rhode Island.
