According to the family, the animal shelter took the doggo after a report saying that a stray dog was being a threat to someone. The woman who reported the dog said that the animal has no collar and has been in the area for two weeks. The woman continued to claim that the dog attacked her own fur baby.
The dog owners said that they just let their doggo out so it can use the bathroom. The dog never went back inside until the family was told their dog was at the animal shelter. The family claims that on the same day the dog was taken in the animal shelter, it was already euthanized. The family noted in a statement, “They are not giving the animals a chance, they are not giving the families a chance, this was not just a dog. This was our family member, this was our child. They messed with the wrong dog.”
The shelter release a statement saying that the dog was very aggressive and was not deemed fit for adoption. Due to safety reasons, the dog was euthanized. Shelter protocol provides stray dogs to be held for three days.
The family hopes to get a lawyer to settle the matter. They set up a GoFundMe account to help with their financial matters regarding the lawsuit.
