The car was parked at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin when the dog died. The dog owner was charged with mistreatment of an animal causing death and intentionally failing to provide food. The dog was a dive-year-old golden retriever named Kaley and police found it inside the vehicle. The dog was still taken to a veterinarian but it was already dead. When they tried to check the dog’s temperature, they could not because the dog’s core temperature was higher than what the thermometer could read. The dog owner was at a meeting when she left her dog inside the vehicle.
The dog owner was sentenced to a year of probation. She will not be paying anything but has to perform 50 hours of community service at an animal shelter.
