At the Upper West Side in Manhattan, a dog died from a fire. The dog owner said that the doggo saved their life.

The fire took place last Friday morning. The doggo, a six-year-old Tamaskan named Rikku, barked continuously in order to wake up everyone when flames started to engulf their four-story brownstone. The doggo was seen alive in a hallway but died eventually. A total of eight people were injured from the incident. Neighbors were also evacuated to prevent any more injuries. Those who were injured are expected to recover soon because none of the injuries were serious.
The fire was out in an hour. An investigation is underway regarding the cause of the fire. Those who were displaced are now being assisted by Red Cross. It is unclear when they will be back.
