The University of Sydney recently concluded a research relating a dog’s color and its longevity as well as overall health. Accordingly, the life expectancy of chocolate Labradors are lower than the black and yellow Labs.
– In the United Kingdom, around 33,000 Labradors were part of a research.
– The research was done by the University of Sydney.
– They found out that chocolate-colored Labradors are more…
The researchers studied more than 33,000 Labrador retrievers in the United Kingdom. The chocolate-colored Labs also have higher numbers of doggos that suffer from ear infections and skin disease. As for longevity, black and yellow labs are expected to live around 12.1 years, which is more than 10 percent compared to Chocolate-colored labs.
The lead author of the research said that they were surprised there was such link between the color of a Labrador and its overall health. Although they believe that the findings in the United Kingdom-based doggos will not have the same result as those in Australia, they sill want it to be their guide.
