According to a dog owner, her dog is normally very active and happy. However, once she hears fireworks, she starts shaking like crazy. The dog owner then gives her doggo a Benadryl and it works like magic.
A veterinarian with Wilson’s Creek Animal Hospital said that he wants dog owners to know that it is okay to medicate their doggo. He has been getting lots of calls from dog owners about this matter. He specifically recommended the use of Xanax but a prescription is needed for a dog owner to get his or her hands on one. The vet said that Xanax will relax dogs a little bit and will not make them sleepy.
