The dog was taken to the Anderson Hills Animal Care Hospital and had to undergo almost 50 surgeries just to survive the severity of its abuse and injuries from the burns. The doctor who worked on the doggo said that in her 32 years of practice, this was the worst case she handled.
The dog is only eight months old and has been given the name Romee. The dog was found back in September and although the recovery is long, the people that are taking care of the doggo now are positive the dog will soon be a perfect fit to be a therapy dog for children in burn units. The people who have the dog now are actually the parents of the vet assistant who helped take care of the doggo. She said she fell in love with the dog immediately and had to take the doggo home.
The dog has a scar on one side of his face now and a part of his ear had to be removed. Despite what happened, the dog remains to have an awesome attitude and is a good boy.
