A dog owner was out on a walk with her doggo in Auburndale, Florida. The dog owner shared that the alligator grabbed her doggo and she was not able to do anything because the alligator went back to the pond right away.

The dog owner shared in an interview that she was so heartbroken because her dog did not even know what happened to it. The dog was reportedly yelping but the dog owner did not have the chance to pull it out of the alligator’s mouth. The dog owner shared that the alligator came back up and she spotted her dog in the reptile’s mouth.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said in a statement that the most susceptible animals to being eaten by alligators are dogs and cats. Dogs and cats should not be allowed to swim or be near the waters.
