– A dog owner took to Twitter to complain about the policies of American Airlines.
– He claims that the dog was over the weight limit so they were not allowed to fly.
– American Airlines claimed otherwise saying…
The dog owner took to Twitter to talk about the incident. They were set to fly on July 3 but he claimed on his tweet that American Airlines destroyed their holiday travel plans because his doggo is “five pounds over the weight limit.”
In a statement by American Airlines, they said that they did not allow the dog to board the plane because they were just looking out for the dog’s best interests. They said that they will only allow dogs to fly with them if pets are able to “stand up, turn around and lie down in a natural position in their kennel” without touching any sides or the top of the container. The dog was reportedly not able to comply with that but American Airlines made an exception and let them fly still. American Airlines said it was only for that time but the dog must have a bigger container the next time around.
