– A dog was abandoned tied to a tree.
– Johnson County Animal Shelter employees were called about the dog.
– The dog had a note in her collar, which said…
According to the employees, the note was found in the dog’s collar. The note said the following, “I was a spoiled girl, my dada gave me my own couch to lay on and my own memory foam bed. My dad lost his job and soon his home from COVID.” The dog is named Roadie and is 18 months old. The dog is a German shepherd mix. The shelter has already received more than 20 adoption applications. The dog is very energetic so the shelter is careful in picking the right new owners.
Although the story behind the abandonment of the dog is heartbreaking, officials said there is always a better way to surrender animals. The dog should not be left alone anywhere just like what happened to Roadie because she could have been hit by a car, attacked by wolves, or figured into other accidents. It is still best to ask for a shelter’s assistance.
