The statement from experts came after a dog rescue group from Houston took to their Facebook page to say that four dogs were injured because of chewing on a specific tennis ball brand. A veterinarian who diagnosed one of the doggos said that the dog had mouth ulcers because of the dog’s contact with an irritating substance.
Experts with the American Veterinary Medical Association then said they never heard of stories about dogs suffering from chemical burns due to licking or chewing on a tennis ball. The only harm of tennis balls are possible blocking of a dog’s airways or intestinal blockage.
