The shooting took place at the Faulkner County in Arkansas. The dog owner, Doug Canady, said that his heart broke when his doggo got shot. Accordingly, one woman claimed that his doggo was attacking her. Later, the woman pointed a gun to the dog. The dog owner asked the woman to put the gun away because the dog was just barking and he was positive the doggo would not attack anyone.
It is unclear why the deputy fired his gun towards the dog owner and that’s when the dog got hit. The dog ran away and when the deputies left, the dog owner was relieved that when he looked for the poor dog, someone rescued it and he was told the doggo was alive.
After the incident, the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office released a statement about the deputy being fired.
