Dog owner is rallying behind her doggo that has been set up for euthanasia after he attacked another dog. A judge cancelled the euthanasia proceedings but it is unclear if the dog is truly safe from being put down forever.

The incident took place in Troy, New York. The dog that has been saved from euthanasia for now is named Luna and is a six-year-old Hound-Pitbull mix. The dog that it attacked is an American Eskimo. Luna has since been with the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and being one of the breeds under the “Dangerous Dog” law, the dog has to be put down even if the biting incident takes place only once.
Initially, Luna’s human agreed to the euthanasia proceedings for the dog. Weeks later, the dog owner made an application for vacating the initial court order and reopening the matter for a hearing. The dog owner said that her dog deserves a second chance because the biting incident was the only time the doggo displayed aggression.
