The home of the couple, identified as Michael Anthony Mills and Lila Kaye Crawford, was visited by authorities over the weekend after they received a call asking for a civil standby. A third person asked accompaniment from the authorities so he or she can get his or her belongings. That was when the authorities found the doggos. Not all of the doggos are alive because six were found in the hood of a car and a seventh dead dog was discovered in a trash bin outside the home. The charges against the couple were not finalized yet.
The dogs were later turned over to the City of Casa Grande Animal Care and Adoption Center. Around 28 of the doggos were in good health while some suffered health problems like bite wounds, dehydration, and hair and skin sores.
It is unclear when the dogs will be up for adoption.
