The dog owner’s fur baby is a prohibited breed that cannot be kept in Winnipeg. The committee ordered the owner to remove the animal from the city limits. The doggo, named Remington, is an American pit bull terrier. The dog owner pleaded that she be allowed to keep Remington because the dog is a medical alert service dog. The dog also helps the dog owner with her anxiety and seizure alerts. The dog owner only wanted to keep the dog within the city limits until July this year as they will be moving out of the city after to continue the dog’s service dog training. However, these pleas fell on deaf ears.
The case regarding this doggo started in July 2020. This was after Remington attached another doggo at PetSmart. The dog owner claims Remington has no history of aggression and that Remington was only correcting the other doggo.
