The dog, a 14-year-old rescue dog was taken to Long Island Veterinary Specialists last year. The dog was put under anesthesia for hours and the dog was allegedly forced into positions that caused his damaged spine. Because of this, the dog also suffered from bed sores and fecal and urine burns because the dog owner could not take the dog out of his cage anymore. A technician at the facility claimed she has seen such paralysis in dogs happen “because of how they twist and position the dog for the MRI that causes problems.”
The vets later asked the dog owner not to move his dog to another animal hospital and promised to treat the dog with physical therapy and acupuncture. A nurse claimed the dog did not receive such procedures. The dog was finally euthanized on November 17. The suite is still ongoing.
