Just in time for the New Year, the American Kennel Club announced on Tuesday that there are two new additional dog breeds on their list. These are the Barbet and the Dogo Argentino.
– Two new dog breeds have made it to the list of the American Kennel Club.
– They are the Dogo Argentino and the Barbet.
– They were recognized last Tuesday.
The newly-recognized dog breeds can now compete in any dog show starting Wednesday. However, they can only compete at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show by 2021. More on the doggos, the Barbet has a curly coat and is a hunter doggo in France. The Barbet has been described as smart, even-tempered, happy, and friendly. The name of the doggo originated from the French word “barbe,” which means beard. It is believed that Barbet is the ancestor of the poodle and Bichon Frise.
As for the Dogo Argentino, it was developed by a doctor in the last 100 years. However, the dog has strong guarding instincts and is territorial in nature so only experienced people are encouraged to get such breed. The American Kennel Club noted that this dog breed is a faithful companion either at home are in the field as it is also a hunting dog.
