A recently study claims that if you are allergic to doggos, you should not rule out having a doggo. This is because you might only be allergic to male doggos.
– A lot of people are allergic to dogs.
– However, they might be allergic only to male dogs.
– This means that they could have their male dog…
An allergist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Dr. Lakiea Wright, said that up to 30 percent of people allergic to dogs are only allergic to the protein that is made in the prostate of a dog. So if you really want to get a dog but you get the allergies, you should have your doggo neutered or get a female doggo.
This study just debunked the notion that people are allergic to the hair of the animals. The allergies are usually due to the proteins in the urine, or the saliva, or the dead skin cells of animals. The good thing is that people can be allergic to one or more of the five identified dog proteins but not to the others so there is still a good chance for such people to get a dog.
If you want to know if you are allergic only to male doggos, you could talk to your doctor about the history of your symptoms.
