– The veterinarian who worked with the doggo decided to…
The dog was rescued in February and Dr. Gary Andes of Andes-Straley Veterinary Hospital said that it was the worse abuse case they’ve seen. The dog was dragged behind a car and was taken to a church parking lot. Thankfully, the incident was caught through a surveillance video and the dog was rescued on time. It took the dog at least 5 months to recover and is unrecognizable now.
Andes said that the dog’s physical wounds are already at 95 percent healed. However, the dog will never recover fully as he will feel the effects of the injuries he received. He will most likely suffer from arthritis in the years to come. The dog also had problems emotionally as he was really scared of people for the first weeks he was around his rescuers. Andes said the dog will heal emotionally if he found a fur-ever home.
Andes is actually the one who adopted Church. He said, “They become yours. And that’s what happened to me, he’s become my dog.” The doggo goes to work with him every day and goes home with him every night.
As for who did such a horrible thing to the dog, the investigation by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office continues to this day.
