Accordingly, PETA went on a campaign against Paws for Effect saying that the company has had a lot of citations under the Animal Welfare Act. Paws for Effect then sued PETA saying that because of the smear campaign of the organization, their company lost potential clients. Later, the company asked the court to dismiss the case so they had to pay to PETA. Paws for Effect admitted recently in a statement that they indeed violated some of the regulations under the Animal Welfare Act in training doggos and other animals for movies.
PETA’s senior Vice President said in a statement that they were pleased with the outcome of the case and that they vow to “keep exposing exhibitors’ behind-the-scenes conduct until Hollywood ends the use of live animals and embraces the many types of realistic and humane alternatives.”
